Coaching helps individuals and groups assess where they are, discover where they want to be, and then move toward that. It’s not about helping someone feel better but helping them see better—beyond the borders of old stories that have them stuck, comfortably or uncomfortably so.
Coaches don’t try to fix or heal clients; rather they help them identify and close the gaps in their lives. Neuroscience tells us that our brains are designed to protect the status quo—effective for self-preservation but not for self-actualization. Coaching allows us to break through that hardwired resistance.
Among many approaches to problem-solving, research identifies coaching as one of the most creative. As clients tell their stories and we reflect on them together, brain activity is stimulated rather than being pacified with advice.
A facilitated coach-client partnership uncovers the passions that ignite people and motivate them to action.
It is those sparks that clear space for new insights and chapters.

Coaching can help you:
Like physical strength training, results grow over time as you invest in yourself and activate your desire to achieve your goals. They are as limitless as your willingness to continue to explore and grow.

“We enter our adult years with plans and dreams for what our lives will be like. We work hard to complete an education or apprenticeship. And then the grind of adulthood, responsibilities, competition for limited resources (time, money, love, attention) begins in earnest. We find ourselves gravitating to what is safe, convenient, well-known, comfortable. True adventure, straying from the norm, seems costly and unpredictable. But it's in the places of the unknown, the yet to be explored, where excitement, discovery, purpose, and meaning blossom.”
(From the prologue of Joy on a Bathroom Stall: And Other Impossible God Tales)
"In a world that so often compartmentalizes and commercializes our humanity, it is deeply refreshing to encounter someone who can hold space with both prayerful wisdom and thoughtful intention, offering guidance that is compassionate, grounded, and practical."
Lisa L., Coaching Client
"Over the last decade, I've navigated a divorce and an empty nest, promotion to the C suite, the sale of a business, corporate layoff, starting a new business, writing my first book, going back to school, and a personal weight loss and wellness journey. Working with a coach has been an integral part of thriving through the transitions. I know firsthand the value of peace, clarity, and excitement that comes when we partner with a professionally trained coach along the way."
Kim Vermillion, Lead Coach
“What a treat it was for my PEO chapter when Kim gave a program recently in Shreveport, LA. ‘Joy’ may not have been written ‘on the bathroom stall’ or the wall of our meeting room, but it certainly filled the hearts and minds of those who attended the meeting. After participating in an exercise about change, we left looking forward to the opportunities, challenges, and excitement that change can bring.”
Kay L., Program Participant, 68-Year PEO Member
